希臘在星期天的公投中，以決定性的多數，否決債權集團的紓困提案，百分之61.3的選民投了反對票，只有百分之38.7的人願意接受以嚴格的撙節交換紓困，投票結果讓希臘前途陷入了更大的不確定性。（夏明珠報導）
希臘總理齊普拉斯大力鼓吹選民投反對票，他宣稱債權人提出的紓困條件，是在羞辱希臘，巴望公投結果可以讓希臘用更寬鬆的條件，取得援助，甚至打消部份債務，公投結果如了他的意，現在就看他有多大本領，能讓債權集團讓步。歐盟一再警告，拒絕紓困，將導致希臘被逐出歐元區。
齊普拉斯則認為歐元區是在虛張聲勢，他說，公投結果不只授予他更大的談判權限，也同時賦予他一個艱難的任務，就是幫希臘脫離財政撙節的惡性循環，謀求一個根本解決之道。
已經關了一個禮拜的希臘銀行，明天將恢復營業，沒有歐洲央行當後盾，它要如何應付擠兌，是個問號。希臘與債權集團持續了幾個月的談判，現在等於全部歸零，過去兩個禮拜彼此喊話到幾乎撕破臉，重啟溝通管道，也不是件容易的事。
德國副總理說，希臘當局自掘墳墓，德國不知道怎麼和它們談判，不過其他歐元區成員國態度就比較和緩，義大利外長說，為今之計，就是趕快開始，重新謀求共識，比利時財政部長也說，談判的大門依然是開著的。他透露，歐元區財政部長將再度集會，討論該如何把希臘經濟拉回正軌，給希臘一個努力的目標。
